Exchanging a Link

For those who are interested in exchanging a link, let me know and I'll be glad to do so. I also want to hear from organizations or individuals who cater specially to military members. I am in the process of compiling a list of websites that will be useful for military spouses.

Final Weeks to Apply for Military Spouse Fellowships

The National Military Family Association, in association with the Association for Financial Counseling and Planning Education® (AFCPE®) and Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Investor Education Foundation is accepting applications for the FINRA Foundation Military Spouse Accredited Financial Counselor® Fellowship. This program will provide up to 200 military spouses with the education necessary to enter the financial counseling career field.

The fellowship covers the costs associated with completing Accredited Financial Counselor® training and testing. Upon successful completion of the program and required practicum, the participant will be awarded the Accredited Financial Counselor® designation from AFCPE®.

Many employers such as credit unions, financial aid offices, and community housing agencies need well-trained, ethical, and caring financial counselors to meet the increasing demand for financial counseling services. Military spouses can fill this need while building a rewarding career that is flexible to the demands of the military family lifestyle.

Another creative endeavor by a military spouse

After much consideration, I have finally decided to start an internet radio show called "Discovering Ohio."  I used to go around town and film different events when I was in Alamogordo, NM.  After coming to Ohio, I did not get an avenue to actively film and produce videos, but I thought having an internet radio show would continue to allow me help the community promote their events.

Discovering Ohio is about finding all the fun and interesting events, such as seminars, fundraisers, club meetings, craft shows, parties and professional conferences in Ohio right in my radio shows. I'm going to look for good events in Newark, Heath, Hebron, Granville, Buckeye Lake, Zanesville, Reynoldsberg, Pickerington, Pataskala, Columbus, New Albany, Dublin, Gahanna, Dayton, Cincinnati and surrounding areas! Being an individual who is adamant about green living, I will focus more on individuals, businesses and non-profit organizations that provide green products and services or have a special green message to share.

This show is about interviewing people and organizations that make a difference.

Our first show is with John Stewart, the national organizer of "Think Outside the Bottle" Campaign.  Tune in at 1:00pm Eastern Time on March 31, 2009.  See you there!
